Pre-Moving Anxieties

Many of you have been asking how Tré feels about the upcoming move to Thailand. I began recording quotes. There have been some cute (and mildly disturbing) ones...

Prior to me signing a contract:
"I'm not going. I'm staying here."

"I'll go anywhere as long as we can bring Cookies [our cat]."

The first night after I signed the contract:
"Next time you do that [sign a contract], I might leave during the night."

In the 3-4 weeks following the signing of the contract:
The dramatic adolescent favorite, "You're ruining my life."

"In some ways, I'm glad you did it [signed the contract]. In other ways, I'm pissed."

"There will be alot of opportunities for me in Thailand [to make money]." (He's thinking of selling fruit and seafood to tourists.)

When a teacher told him he was jealous Tré replied, "You just want a place to visit."

"Trader Tré's, that's what I'm going to call my business. 'Deals of Your Life' - that will be my motto."

"Trader Tré's is going to be a thriving business. I'm going to have people working for me."

As we get within 5-6 weeks of the move:
"Thailand is actually going to be kind of cool... but I'm not saying I'm excited."

"I feel lucky about moving to Thailand, but I'm not exactly happy about it." (6/4/08)
