We took a long-tail boat out to a nearby island – Racha Yai – with a few friends to spend the day snorkeling. Long-tail boats are the traditional style of boat plus a semi-modern motor added on the back! You can hire the boat and driver for the day, and he will take you wherever you want to go and stay with you all day. The prices are pretty reasonable - we paid $90USD to go to an island about an hour away and split the cost between the six of us. It was a gorgeous day, and we saw lots of cool fish and invertebrates while snorkeling.
